ABSTRACT
 It is a well-known fact that software companies undertake huge projects, more than one at a time. Hence there is a profound need for the organizations to manage all the projects effectively and also ensure that project’s cycle goes on smoothly and they are completed on time.
During the lifetime of a project, the organization has to commemorate all the activities of the project. This tool makes it easier for the organization to monitor the projects. It maintains records and tracks various parameters that influence software project development process and helps the management to take decisions at various stages of the product development.
This product will assist the organization in maintaining record of every project it undertakes. All the information relevant to the projects like size, time, effort, departments involved, etc is maintained by this tool. Through out the project we dealt with three modules – Administrator, Project Manager and Developer.
Masters of modules are place where we maintain the record of the entire project undertaken, departments involved in the project and details of the employees. Transaction is the place where we carry out required operations with respect to parameters like size estimate, effort estimate. Reports are generated, for the operations we committed, in the Reports module.
 Existing system :
In a competitive business climate organizations ability to efficiently align resources and business activities with strategic objectives can mean the difference between succeeding and just surviving. To achieve strategic alignment, organizations are increasingly managing their activities and processes as projects- in essence, projecting their business –to monitor performance more closely and make better business decision above their overall work portfolio. By planning and tracking projects with clarity and precession, organizations can respond with greater ability to the demands of  fast changing business environment. Making strategic goals or reality requires technology that is robust enough to support your core business and yet flexible enough to accommodate your existing processes. The Microsoft office Enterprise Project Management (EPM) is one of t he existing tools that are helpful for software project management.
The primary purpose of any tool is to improve productivity, reduce cycles times, decrease costs and increase Quality.
Proposed System :
For any software project the primary parameters that should be taken into account are time, size, and effort. The existing tools do not consider all the factors that effect a project directly. The entire process is built upon  just one or two parameters which do not gives us complete and desired results. So we need a system where we can deliver the correct results that would ultimately lead to a position where the overall cost and time will be consolidated. Hence the organization which implements such a process can produce better results.
Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and technologies to project activities to meet project requirements.
Project management is accomplished through the use of the process such as : initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing.
The project team manages the work of the projects, and the work typically involves:
>> Compete ting demands for : scope, time, cost, risk and quality.
>> Stake holders with different needs and expectations.
>> Identified requirements.
It is important to note that many of the processes with in project management are iterative in nature. This is in part due to the existence of and the necessity for progressive elaboration in a project throughout the project life cycle; i.e., the more you know about your project, the better you are able to manage it. The term project management is some times used to describe an organizational approach to the management of ongoing operations.
This approach, more properly called management by projects, treats many aspects of ongoing operations as projects to apply projects management techniques to them.
In the additional approach, we can distinguish 5 stages in the development of a project. 
  • Project initiation
  • Project planning
  • Project production
  • Project monitoring
  • Project completion
                 Not all projects will visit every stage as projects can be terminated before they reach completion. Many industries utilize variations on these stages. For example, in bricks and mortar architectural design, schematic design, design development, construction drawing and construction administration. While the names may differ from industry to industry, the actual stages typically follow common steps to problem solving, defining the problem, weighing options, closing a path, implementation and evolution. Project management tries to gain control over five variables:
>> Time
>> Cost
>> Quality
>> Scope
>> Risk
Three of these variables can be given by external or internal customers. The values of the remaining variables is then set by the project management, ideally based on solid estimation techniques.
MODULES DESCRIPTION
MODULES:
  • Administrator
  • Project manager
  • Developer
Administrator  :
Administrator will maintain the details of all Employees of organization. We can add, view, edit and remove the details of the employees.
He can view the reports likes list of employees, list of projects, list of modules,  He can send the message to employees, view the messages send by the users. He also maintains the client information.
Project Manager :
He was first login into the system. Once login into the system we can perform the follows tasks.
He was maintain the projects details and modules of the projects. He can assign the modules to the developers.
He can check the modules status send by the developer. He can view the feed back send by the user.
The project Manager will send the message to the developer and also he can view the message from the developer.
Developer :
He was first login in to the Software project management tool by using username & password.
He can view the assigned module from the project manager. He can send the project status to the project manager.
He was updating the status daily. Once the project completed the completed module will not be viewed by the developer.
He can send the message to the different employees.
