INTRODUCTION
Web based clinic management is an online portal developed for multi specialty clinics. This portal allows patients to register to a clinic using Internet by entering all their details such as personal, family, insurance and past &present medical history. Patient can also fix their appointment with a physician of their choice. The physician or the staff at the clinic can access all this information. After physical examination of the patient, the physician can save all this information for future reference. Physicians can also request pathology lab reports online and can send prescriptions directly to an online drug store.
OBJECTIVE:
This site is basically intended for clinics. In the manual system, a patient has to come to the clinic and fill up the forms manually and has to take the appointment manually. But using this site, a patient can logon to a particular clinic web site and fill up his personal info and can fix up an appointment with a particular physician available at the clinic.  This reduces paper work and at the same time, the data is electronically stored. Hence data retrieval can also be very easy and faster.
More over, the physician can send mails to the drug stores, pathology labs and radiology labs once he examines the patient. Once the patient gets the respective pathology, radiology lab tests done, the pathology and radiology labs can send reports to the respective clinics. Thus, the communication is becoming faster and easy. All this information pertaining to a patient can be stored in the database. So, this information can be used for statistical analysis even.
The project was implemented under Windows XP environment using ASP.Net and
Microsoft SQL Server. Active server pages (ASP.Net) is a programming environment that provides the ability to combine HTML, scripting and components to create powerful internet applications that run on your server. It is used to generate dynamic web pages. It can contain server side scripts and provides a number of built-in objects. An ASP.Net can interact with a database such as Microsoft SQL Server. With ASP, it’s easy to build applications that run on a web server. ASP.Net enables to use any scripting language.
ASP.Net uses ActiveX server components running on the local server (or any other server on the network) to access databases and applications, and to process information. Scripts and components included in ASP.Net files are processed completely on the server. The page that’s delivered to your clients is pure, standard html and viewable by all browsers.
Java Script supports both web browser and server scripting. Java script is browser dependent. Java script can be used as either a client-side or a server-side programming language. On client side, it can be used to write programs that are executed by a web browser within the context of a web page. On the server side, it can be used to write web server programs that can process information submitted by a web browser and then update the browser’s display accordingly.
VBScript is a scripting language. VBScript extends HTML with variables, operators, loops, conditionals, functions and subroutines. In creation of Active Server Pages, VBScript is used as a server-side programming language. The advantage is that the scripts work regardless of the browser being used.
Visual Inter Dev allows developers to create and manage shared web projects. It includes a variety of tools within a single, well-integrated development environment.
SYSYTEM SCOPE:
This software portal is for 18 specialties like general, gynecology, pediatrics, cardiology, gastroenterology, dental etc. Each specialty consists of seven modules. They are patient, physician, nurse, pathology, radiology, pharmacy, and administration. Every new user i.e. patient can register and choose for him self a password. Every physician, pathology labs, radiology labs, and nurses will be given a password by the administrator. So these people must contact the administrator for including them in this web site.
System Analysis
Analysis is the first phase of the software development project. It collects requirements and analysis the problem at hand. The analysis phase then constructs a higher-level solution to the problem from user’s point of view.
Analysis uses the concept that is meaningful to the end users. First it collects the requirements from the end users. The requirements are discussed and validated together with the end users and other parties. After this the software system is outlined to meet the requirements. This outlining produces the initial solution to the problems.
EXISTING SYSYTEM:
In a traditional hospital environment physicians spend approximately 50% of the time in doing paper work to communicate with patients, office staff, diagnostic labs, pharmacies and insurance providers. This results in poor time utilization for doctors and excessive work for hospital staff. Most of the time, patient record maintenance is quite unstructured and physicians have to rely on recollections and the patient impromptu briefs while diagnosing the case details.
There are some kinds of automated solutions that exist in the industry to address these problems. However these are targeted for larger clinics and most of the time they are very expensive to buy and maintain on a regular basis. No affordable and hassle free Internet and intranet solutions available in the market to cater the needs of small clinics and individual practitioners. Often the physicians and hospital staff do not posses any MIS expertise to use the complex solutions available in the market.
PROPOSED SYSYTEM:
This is exactly where WEB BASED CLINIC MANAGEMENTcan provide a value to its customers. It offers a comprehensive solution package with hardware and software components. 
It connects the users in Internet space with inexpensive and affordable devices to access the relevant information. This is a simple, robust and very easy to use technology, which can increase the efficiency of communication model among the customer base.
Solution package consists of a network server to host the database and a set of wired and wireless devices to access the information from the server. Dynamic Content Management is the IP for this firm.
